Abbey National: 2.5% merit award
All-merit rises of up to 9% have been awarded to 20,000 staff and managers at Abbey National, effective from 1 February 2000. The average merit award for business support staff at their salary anchor (mid-point) who "met the principal accountabilities of their job" was 2.5% (3% for management).
