Agreement on information and consultation text
A compromise
text on the proposed Directive establishing a general framework for informing
and consulting workers was agreed by a Council/European Parliament conciliation
committee on 17 December.
This proposal has stirred up a substantial amount of controversy as it will, for the first time, oblige member states to put into place a general framework for informing and consulting employees in undertakings of at least 50 employees or establishments of at least 20 employees.
