Following negotiations with trade unions Amicus, the GMB, the Transport and General Workers' Union and Unison, Anglian Water has agreed to increase salaries by 2.34% from the anniversary date of 1 April 2006. The agreement covers an estimated 2,200 white-collar employees and 1,100 operatives, and the award is based on an inflation-linked formula whereby rates rise in line with the average year-on-year increase in the all-items retail prices index (RPI) over the three months between November 2005 and January 2006.
