Austria: Employees must be registered before starting work

In a bid to prevent illegal working, one of the key measures contained in the new social democrat-conservative coalition government’s social programme is that employees must be registered with the social security insurance system before they begin work. In April 2007, the government reached agreement on the details of this scheme.
