Belgium: Calls for more flexible working arrangements in public services
A number of senior civil service managers and liberal politicians have called for more flexible working arrangements in certain areas of the public services, with a relaxation of set working hours.
The discussion was started by Rudy Aernoudt, the new general secretary at the Flemish ministry of the economy, science and innovation, who announced that he planned to ban clocking on and clocking off from his department, preferring instead to judge his staff on their results.
