Belgium: Minister sets up additional joint committee

Peter Vanvelthoven, the federal employment minister, announced in April 2007 the establishment of three new sectoral joint committees for the liberal professions (including doctors and lawyers), social organisations and not-for-profit organisations.

Covering blue-collar workers (around 30,000) and white-collar workers (80,000), these committees are innovative, because generally sectors have separate blue- and white-collar committees.
