Black calls for new direction for occupational health

A high-level government-backed review has recommended a new approach – for government, employers, unions and healthcare professionals – to health and work in Britain.

The report, Working for a Healthier Tomorrow1, from Dame Carol Black, envisages developments in occupational health (OH) provision that take it beyond a service that is “largely restricted to helping those in employment” to one that is also “concerned with helping people who have not yet found work, or who have become workless, to enter or return to work”.
