Bricklayers, masons, operatives and labourers covered by the national agreement negotiated between the Refractory Users Federation and UCATT will have their basic rates increased by between 3.1% and 6.5%, effective from 1 January 2005, in the second stage of a three-year pay and conditions agreement.
Last year, following protracted and difficult negotiations, a three-year deal was concluded.
