In the first stage of a three-year deal, the Construction Industry Joint Council (CIJC) has agreed a 5.07% increase in basic pay rates from 30 June 2003. Over three-years, minimum basic rates will rise from £7.30 an hour to £9 an hour, a total increase of 23.3%.
