Corrugated packaging workers: new deal worth 2.865%

Negotiations on the multi-employer agreement covering manual workers in the corrugated packaging industry have resulted in a 2.865% pay rise, yielding flat-rate increases in adult day work rates of between £5.23 and £6.50 a week. The deal, effective from 1 September 2003, also raises the weekly minimum earnings levels by £5.98, from £208.78 to £214.76 for a 37.5-hour week. In addition, paternity leave provision is improved by two days, to five days paid at full pay.
