Corus fined £300,000 for explosion
Corus UK Ltd,
one of Europe's largest steel makers, has been fined £300,000 and ordered to pay
costs of £11,591 after an explosion left a contract worker paralysed from the
chest down. The fine is the second highest to be imposed on a manufacturer, and
the thirteenth highest on any organisation, for breaches of safety law.
