Denmark: LO chair raises 'free rider' issue
The chair of the blue-collar Confederation of Danish Trade Unions (LO), Hans Jensen, recently stated that it is unfair that workers who are not union members should enjoy the same rights and benefits based on collective agreements as union members. He questioned whether the 20% or so of the workforce who do not pay union membership fees should derive exactly the same advantages from the unions' bargaining efforts as their unionised colleagues.
