The third and final stage of a three-year pay award for staff at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) was implemented on 1 July 2006, giving most employees a minimum pay increase of 3%. The award increases the paybill by 4% and is worth a total of £115 million, plus an additional £36 million performance bonus pot.
