Eaton Transmissions UK: Inflation-linked rises
Around 450 manual workers at the Manchester plant of automotive components manufacturer Eaton Transmissions UK receive an inflation-indexed 1% rise in basic rates from 1 November 1999. Under the terms of a three-year deal agreed with the AEEU in 1998 (Pay and Benefits Bulletin 466), the company will also award a further rise on 1 May, again linked to movements in the all-items retail prices index (RPI).
