Emotional intelligence distinguishes the most successful leaders

Jacqui Frost, a postgraduate student at the Centre for Applied Emotional Intelligence, has surveyed over 100 senior managers about the competencies that are essential for success as organisations face the challenges of a new century.

Senior managers are convinced that effective business leadership depends on three emotional intelligence qualities: the ability to motivate others; strong interpersonal communication skills; and the capacity to listen perceptively.
