Workers covered by the National Joint Council (NJC) for the engineering construction industry have agreed a new two-year pay and conditions agreement that yields a 4.17% first-stage increase on minimum base, overtime and shift rates, as well as travel allowances, effective from 5 April 2004. In addition:
the lodging allowance rises by £1 per night, to £23, worth 4.55%.
