Equalities Review wants procurement and positive action

Public sector bodies should be required to use procurement as a means of achieving greater equality, says the final report of the Equalities Review, Fairness and freedom1.

Chaired by Trevor Phillips, the head of the new Commission for Equality and Human Rights (CEHR), the review body believes that central government and the public sector should use their enormous purchasing power to further equality goals.
