ESC: Opinion on temporary work proposal

At its plenary session on 19 September, the European Economic and Social Committee (ESC) adopted an Opinion on the Commission's proposal on working conditions for temporary workers.

The Commission issued its proposal for a Directive on working conditions for temporary workers on 20 March 2002 (EC: Commission issues temporary work proposal ), following the breakdown of European-level social partner negotiations on this issue (EIRR 329). Under the procedure provided for by the Treaty establishing the European Community to which this proposal is subject, the ESC is consulted for its opinion on the content.
