EU commission: Action sought to improve posted workers’ conditions

In April 2008, the European Commission recommended that national governments take a series of concrete actions to improve the employment conditions of workers temporarily posted by their employers to another EU member state.

In EU terms, “posted workers” are those employed in one member state but sent by their employer on a temporary basis to carry out work in another member state, especially in the context of the “transnational provision of services”.
