EU: Commission acts against member states over equality Directives

The European Commission accused Italy, Poland and the UK of shortcomings in their implementation of EU equality Directives in January 2010.

An important part of the European Commission's role is to check member states' implementation of EU legislation, and over the past year much of its monitoring activity in the employment law field has related to a number of equality Directives.
