EU Commission: Consultation launched on equal treatment in self-employment

In March 2008, the European Commission launched consultations on the revision of the 1986 EU Directive on equal treatment for self-employed women and men.

Directive 86/613/EEC (on the EUR-Lex website) on the application of the principle of equal treatment between men and women engaged in an activity in a self-employed capacity was adopted in October 1986 and had to be implemented by the EU member states by June 1989.
