EU: Commission recommends principles on finance sector pay

The European Commission issued on 29 April 2009 a Recommendation to the EU member states on remuneration policies in the financial services sector, calling for an approach that promotes effective risk management.

The Recommendation, which is not binding on the member states, is part of the Commission's response to the global financial crisis (alongside a Recommendation on director's remuneration, issued at the same time).
