EU Commission: Renewed social agenda published
The European Commission issued, on 2 July 2008, a "renewed social agenda" - a wide-ranging package of proposals (in areas including employment law) aimed at boosting the EU's social dimension.
The commission says that its agenda "represents a new commitment to social Europe" and takes an integrated approach, bringing together various policies.
