EU: Commission reviews application of framework equality Directive

The European Commission has issued a generally positive report on the application across the EU of the 2000 framework employment equality Directive - which bans discrimination on the grounds of age, disability, sexual orientation and religion or belief - and proposed a new Directive extending its protection beyond the workplace.
