EU Council: Common "flexicurity" principles adopted
On 5 December 2007, the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council adopted common EU-wide principles on "flexicurity". The principles, which the EU member states should now follow in their national employment and labour market policy, were endorsed by the European Council summit on 14 December.
