EU: Council discusses future EU employment policy
A meeting of the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs (EPSCO) Council on 30 November to 1 December 2009 discussed the future of EU employment policy and its contribution to exiting from the current economic downturn.
The Lisbon growth and jobs strategy, which aims to make the EU economy and labour market more dynamic and competitive, was launched in 2000 and expires in 2010.
