EU Council: Ministers discuss employment and social challenges
The French EU presidency organised an informal meeting of employment and social affairs ministers on 11 July 2008 to discuss a range of important issues facing European labour markets and societies, including globalisation, climate change, demographic ageing and social cohesion.
The French government holds the EU presidency for the second half of 2008 and is stressing the EU’s “social dimension”.
