EU: Council recommends smoke-free workplaces
The Council of the EU has recommended that member states introduce legislation to make all workplaces smoke-free by 2012.
At its meeting on 30 November and 1 December 2009 the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council adopted a Recommendation on smoke-free environments (the Governments of Austria, the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic abstained in the vote).
