EU: Employment ministers call for greater role in economic governance

At a meeting on 8 July 2010, employment ministers agreed that they should play a central role in a forthcoming new EU economic governance and surveillance system.

The informal Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs (EPSCO) Council was organised by the Belgian Government, which took over the EU Presidency for a six-month term on 1 July 2010.
