EU: ETUC organises European day of action against austerity measures
The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) staged a European day of action on 29 September 2010 in protest against the austerity measures being implemented by many governments.
The day of action, under the slogan "No to austerity - priority for jobs and growth", consisted of a "Euro-demonstration" in Brussels, attended by more than 100,000 trade unionists from 30 countries, plus national actions in a range of countries.
