EU: European Council focuses on unemployment and workers' rights
A European Council summit in June 2009 called for renewed efforts to fight unemployment and adopted a "solemn declaration" on workers' rights.
The European Council, which brings together EU heads of state and Government, met in Brussels on 18-19 June.
