EU: European Parliament calls for improved implementation of consultation Directive

The European Parliament called, in February 2009, for improved implementation in the member states of the 2002 EU Directive on national information and consultation rights, and suggested amendments to some of the Directive’s provisions.

Directive 2002/14/EC (on the EUR-Lex website) establishing a general framework for informing and consulting employees in the European Community was adopted in March 2002.
