EU ministers deadlocked on amendments to Pregnant Workers Directive
EU employment ministers were unable to agree a position on proposed amendments to the Pregnant Workers Directive at a meeting of the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs (ESPCO) Council on 17 June 2011, and some national governments now want the proposals to be shelved.
The meeting was the second and final formal EPSCO Council held under the Hungarian EU Presidency of the first half of 2011.
