EU: Ministers discuss future of Working Time Directive revision
At a meeting in July 2009, EU employment ministers discussed the implications of the failure in April of attempts to revise the Working Time Directive, and talks are now to be held with the European Parliament about possible ways forward.
The Swedish Government, which took over the EU Presidency on 1 July 2009 for a six-month term, organised an informal meeting of employment and social affairs ministers in Jönköping on 8 and 9 July.
