EU ministers fail to agree on Pregnant Workers Directive revision
At a Council meeting in December 2010, EU employment ministers largely opposed amendments to the Pregnant Workers Directive proposed by the European Parliament, but were unable to agree among themselves on what changes to the Directive they could accept.
The Parliament gave its long-delayed first reading in October 2010 to the European Commission's draft Directive amending the 1992 Pregnant Workers Directive (92/85/EEC).
