EU Parliament toughens vibration values

European Parliament proposals for stringent controls on exposure to vibration at work are being opposed by the UK government and industry on the grounds that there is only limited scientific evidence for a link with ill-health effects.

The original proposals - which are supported by the UK government - are contained in the draft physical agents (vibration) Directive.
