EU: Redundant Dell workers receive help from EGF

The European Commission approved funding from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) on 19 September 2009 to finance training, job-search assistance and other support for 2,840 workers recently made redundant by Dell and its suppliers in Ireland.

The EGF was set up in 2006 and its terms of reference were amended in June 2009 in the light of the deteriorating economic situation.
