EU social partners: Dialogue committee set up for professional football
In July 2008, the European Commission launched a sectoral social dialogue committee for professional football, giving players, leagues and clubs a formal input into EU employment policy affecting them.
The committee, established after six years of discussions, held its first meeting on 1 July 2008.
