EU social partners: ETUC turns down talks on revision of EWCs Directive

In April 2008, the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) rejected an employers’ offer of negotiations over the European Commission’s proposals for revision of the EU Directive on European Works Councils (EWCs).

In February 2008, the European Commission initiated a long-awaited consultation of the EU-level social partners on the revision of the 1994 EU Directive (94/45/EC) on European Works Councils (on the EUR-Lex website).
