European Communities: Social policy state of play

The final six months of 2004, with the Dutch government at the helm of the Council of Ministers, saw adoption of the Directive on equal treatment in access to and the supply of goods and services and the formal signing of the social partners' agreement on stress at work. The Commission issued a new proposal on revision of the working time Directive and launched a consultation on the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders.
