European Council: Presidency holds informal tripartite summit

The Finnish EU presidency held an informal tripartite social summit on 20 October 2006 to discuss "flexicurity" - the balance between flexibility and security at work.

The meeting, convened just before an informal European Council of EU heads of state and government, brought together representatives of trade unions, employers' organisations, governments and the European Commission.
