European Parliament proposes amendments to migrant workers Directive
The European Parliament gave a first reading in March 2011 to a draft Directive on employment permits and rights for migrant workers from outside the EU, proposing numerous amendments.
The European Commission proposed the "single permit" Directive on non-EU migrant workers in October 2007.
