European Parliament: Services Directive approved

At its plenary session on 15 November 2006, the European parliament (EP) approved at second reading the controversial draft Directive on services in the internal market.

The proposal for a services Directive (often known as the Bolkestein Directive, after the former EU internal market commissioner Frits Bolkestein) was issued by the European Commission in January 2004.
