European Works Councils: EWC agreement at UniCredit hailed as 'double first'

It was announced in February 2007 that an agreement establishing a European Works Council had been signed at UniCredit, an Italy-based banking group with some 145,000 employees across 27 European countries.

Since taking over Germany's HVB in 2005, UniCredit has become a major bank in Italy, Germany, Austria and many central and eastern European countries.
