Eurozone countries agree on wage restraint

The 17 countries of the eurozone, plus six other EU member states, agreed in March 2011 on a "Euro plus pact", which includes controversial commitments to link wage developments to productivity, avoid "large and sustained" increases in labour costs and review wage-setting arrangements.
