The first stage of a new two-year pay and conditions agreement covering an estimated 3,500 craft, skilled and general operatives working in the felt roofing industry has resulted in the minimum industry general operative rate rising by 8% to £7.31 an hour (£285.09 a week). The craft rate rises by 7.2% to £9.72 an hour (£379.08 a week).
