Finland: Row over unions' general election voting campaign

A general election was held on 18 March 2007, resulting in setbacks for the governing centre-left coalition of the Centre party, the Social Democratic party (SDP) and the Swedish People's party and opening the way for a probable centre-right government.

The main winner was the opposition National Coalition party, which gained 10 seats and narrowly fell short of becoming the largest party in the 200-member parliament.
