First Direct, the telephone and internet banking arm of HSBC, has increased salary spot rates by 3.75% for around 1,781 banking representatives and support specialists at its Leeds call centre, effective from 1 April 2005. An increase of 2.5% to the company's flexible benefits allowance is also payable from 1 July 2005.
