First Direct, the telephone and internet banking arm of HSBC, has increased salary spot rates by 5% for 783 customer service and support specialists at its call centre in Hamilton, Scotland, effective from 1 April 2006 for 11 months. From 2007, First Direct will be conducting its annual pay review in March, in line with HSBC.
