The Joint Industrial Council (JIC) for the Food Manufacturers' Industrial Group has agreed a £5.62 increase on the minimum weekly adult rate from 2 June 2003. The minimum rate for trainees aged 16-17 years (80% of the adult rate) rises by £4.50 a week, while trainees aged 17-18 years (paid 90% of the adult rate) will receive weekly increases of £5.06.
